CLEVELAND - Final arrangements have been made for the 16-year-old Cleveland girl, who police say was dragged to death.
Cleveland police were called to the 2000 block of West 81st Street Sunday night, where they found 16-year-old Rosaura Oquendo unresponsive. Detectives said the girl was standing near a Jeep when it pulled away, taking her with it. She eventually fell from the vehicle and struck the pavement.
Calling hours for Oquendo will be at Cracium Berry Funeral Home on Detroit Avenue in Cleveland from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday. She will be buried at Riverside Cemetery.
Because of calling hours, a vigil remembering the teen was moved from Thursday to Wednesday at 7 p.m. in front of her family’s home on West 81st Street.
Donations to help pay for funeral expenses can be made in Oqendo’s name at US Bank on West 25th Street. She was just three days away from her 17th birthday.
Police looked for the driver of the Jeep, who they said left the scene. A 16-year-old boy turned himself over to police late Monday afternoon. According to the Cleveland Police Department, he was questioned and released, pending further investigation.
