CLEVELAND - More and more people looking to check out the new Horseshoe Casino Cleveland but don't feel like driving have the option of taking the bus.
Lakefront lines -- which began offering five-day-a-week bus service in October from Akron, Avon, Brook Park, Brunswick, Canton, Elyria, Mentor, Middleburg Heights, Independence and Willoughby -- is expanding that service this week to seven-day-a-week trips. Additional stops include Twinsburg, Bedford, Westlake and North Olmsted.
"We adjusted the routes and added additional pickup locations," said Lakefront General Manager Chris Goebel. "So now we have over six routes going to the casino on a daily basis as far out as Elyria, as far south as Canton and Streetsboro, Ohio, and Ravenna," he said.
In addition, Lakefront will run once-a-week trips from Columbus and Toledo to start expanding quickly to Youngstown and Toledo.
"We'll be starting that next week, that type of service coming from Columbus stopping in Mansfield and then coming up to the casino, and then also from Toledo stopping in Sandusky and then going to the casino," said Goebel.
"It's geared towards anybody who wants to use the service," he said. "Predominantly, most of the people who use it seem to be retired individuals or individuals who have off several days during the week to use the service but it definitely gives them another opportunity to take advantage of the Horseshoe Casino and what they have to offer on a daily basis."
The local casino routes cost $10 with the patron's getting $15 in slot play. The longer routes will cost $20 with $25 in slot play as the incentive to ride the bus.
