CLEVELAND - A family with seven children escaped an early-morning fire thanks to the quick thinking of one of the children
The fire began early Friday morning in a bedroom of a home along Fidelity Avenue in Cleveland's West Side.
Jamahr Larkin was sleeping when the fire alarm woke him up. "I was sleeping then I hear a little beep noise, and then I woke up. Then, I looked around the room and there was smoke everywhere," he said.
The 11-year-old then woke up his family and most of them were able to get out of the home safely.
Then, they noticed the oldest child wasn't with them, and the mother Janice Bozeman and another child ran back into the burning home to rescue him. They were able to get the child out of the house safely.
The cause of the fire is unknown, and the Red Cross is aiding the family, which has been displaced by the fire.
