CLEVELAND - If you're one of the many people planning to watch fireworks in downtown Cleveland over Lake Erie tonight, check out this list of the best areas to watch the show.

Fireworks are set to go off at 10 p.m. on Wednesday and lasting over 20 minutes. The City of Cleveland provided us a list of the best viewing spots for the display.

- Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica
- Shooters (West bank of the Flats)
- Settlers Landings (East bank of the Flats)
- Whiskey Island/Wendy Park
- Edgewater Park and Kirtland Park

Some fun facts you may not know: Over 1,400 pounds of fireworks are used for the show. Preparation for the event began early Monday morning.

The coast guard patrols the waterway to ensure a safety zone on Lake Erie.

On a side note, RTA's annual Family Funfest will take place at 7 p.m. at Settlers Landing. The festival will feature items from the former Euclid Beach amusement park, including the "thriller car," which will come to life for the evening. A 12-piece Sousa band will set the tone with music. Refreshments will also be available.

In case Wednesday turns stormy or windy, as we've seen three times in the past week, public safety officials said they'll shoot off the fireworks on July 5 at 10 p.m.

We'd love to see your fireworks and parade pictures. You can send them to us by following this link:  http://on.wews.com/M63xVO.
