After permit runs out, police take down Occupy Cleveland tent at Public Square

CLEVELAND - Occupy Cleveland members are still camping out at Public Square in downtown Cleveland despite the fact Cleveland police took down their tent early Thursday morning.

Occupy members told NewsChannel5 about a half a dozen police officers and city workers were not hostile by any means. They said police told the group they were just doing what the mayor's office told them to do.

Wednesday, the city didn't renew the group's encampment permit. Members said they're upset by the decision but plan to still continue with their movement and protest peacefully.

Early Thursday morning, about eight members of the group remained at Public Square. Some were sleeping on the street.
