LAKEWOOD, Ohio - The Monkees will make a rare concert stop at the Lakewood Civic Theater on Nov. 17, 2012. The band will only be performing a total of 12 concerts in the United States.
The Monkees have toured in various forms over the past few decades. The core has almost always contained Davy Jones, Peter Tork and Micky Dolenz.
Mike Nesmith has made a few surprise appearances over the years, but always refused to take on a full blown tour with his former band mates.
On Feb. 29, Jones died suddenly of a heart attack while at his home in Florida. The future of The Monkees was very much in jeopardy.
To everyone's surprise the band recently announced it will be taking to the road one more time with Tork, Dolenz and Nesmith. This will be Nesmith's first tour with the Monkees since 1969.
Tickets for the Lakewood Civic Theater show will go on sale on Aug. 17.
