CLEVELAND - East 9th Street and Euclid Avenue in downtown Cleveland has been transformed into the Big Apple. New York City's famous 42nd Street now runs through the heart of Cleveland.
Crews are filming "The Avengers" movie, which stars Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L. Jackson and Scarlett Johansson.
Northeast Ohioans clamoring for star power waited hours for a chance to see Hollywood royalty in their superhero roles. Onlookers armed with cameras focused on Hollywood cameras making movie magic.
Explosions and black smoke shot up in the air , giving the downtown crowd a thrill. Herb Pauly brought his two little boys to see the action up close. The Cleveland native decided to be a tourist in his own backyard.
"Where else are they going to see a major motion picture movie being made anywhere, let alone in their city," said Pauly.
