CLEVELAND - Cleveland police are investigating a homicide after a man was killed on the city’s east side early Tuesday morning.
Officers tell NewsChannel5 a 41-year-old man was choked to death on Lakeshore Boulevard between East 146th and East 147th Streets at 2:44 a.m. Tuesday.
Police said it started out as a fight between the victim and another man and weapons are not believed to be involved.
At the scene, officers said they found three people in an apartment, the unresponsive victim, a man and a woman. EMS was at the scene and took the victim to Euclid Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The Cleveland Division of Police Homicide Unit was notified and is investigating.
Police said they have made an arrest.
The official cause of death will be determined by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office.
