CLEVELAND - A man was injured after he lost control of his van on Lakeshore Boulevard near East 177th Street around 2:30 a.m. in Cleveland and struck a tree.
According to police, the driver was westbound on Lakeshore when he lost control at a high rate of speed and spun out.
Police said the van was traveling so fast that it went across all the lanes and struck a tree, just missing other cars.
The van was nearly bent in half from the impact with the tree and police said the only survivable place was the driver’s seat.
Saws and other construction equipment were thrown from the van and littered the parking lot of a nearby business.
Police said the man was talking to firefighters as they cut the van open to free the man.
He was transported to a local hospital where his condition in unknown.
