Lakewood ranked as top-10 'coolest suburb' by national magazine

LAKEWOOD, Ohio - In recent years, Lakewood has turned from one of Northeast Ohio’s best kept secrets into an in-demand suburb and thriving hot spot, and now it’s getting some national recognition.

Travel + Leisure Magazine ranked Lakewood as one of its Top 10 Coolest Suburbs . The magazine cited the city’s popular nightlife, well-known restaurants, music scene and diverse population, including a sizable gay and lesbian community.

The article also suggests Lakewood visitors make a stop by the nationally-known Melt Bar & Grilled , which is where Lakewood Mayor Ed FitzGerald is celebrating the city’s ranking in an announcement 11 a.m. Wednesday.
