CLEVELAND - The new movie “Fun Size,” which opens this weekend, was filmed around the Greater Cleveland area, mainly Cleveland Heights, Beachwood and Shaker Heights.

Major parts of the movie were filmed inside Cari Ross's home.

"They knocked on our door when they were scouting," said Ross standing outside in front of her home which is also featured on the movie poster. "We thought they would use the outside of the house for the movie then they came back and said, 'We want to use the inside.'"

Ross's downstairs became a movie set. Herkids and husband became extras and she said they loved it, even though they didn’t have speaking rolls. She said she chose not to go in front of the camera.

As we approach Halloween, her house is decorated much like the movie was with Halloween decorations all abound.

On Friday, her and the family are having a movie premier party as they get ready to go see the feature, in which their played such a crucial role.

"Everybody is talking about it. They think it's the biggest thing since Superman.”

But “Fun Size,” which stars Nickelodeon veteran Victoria Justice, wasn’t the only movie shooting on Cleveland streets. “Alex Cross” starring Tyler Perry and Matthew Fox came to Ohio for a few scenes and most notably “The Avengers” set up camp in downtown.

The Greater Cleveland Film Commission executive director Ivan Schwarz said at this time there are no plans for “Avengers 2" to be filmed in Cleveland.

Instead, he said they are focused on “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” The second of the movie franchise, featuring Chris Evans, is expected to start shooting in late spring of next year.

"It's about economic development. Jobs. It's about creating full time jobs for people in the industry,” Schwarz said.

A study released last march said the state of Ohio generated more than $100 million in the last two years with film projects.
