CLEVELAND - Cleveland police are congratulating and thanking a councilman who they say helped catch suspects who took a bicycle and lawn equipment from a garage.

Ward 15 Councilman Matt Zone witnessed the theft, followed the suspects, took a photo and sent it to Second District Commander Keith Sulzer, according to police.

Sulzer then sent detectives to the area who were able to catch the suspects. The property was returned to the owner.

No word yet on whether the suspects will be charged.

On Facebook, the Cleveland police administrator posted the story and said, “Nice work, Matt!”
