CLEVELAND - A 58-year-old woman was injured during a house fire at a Cleveland home on Thursday.
The Cleveland Fire Department received a call about the fire in the 18400 block of La Salle Avenue at 5:17 p.m.
Fire department spokesperson Larry Gray said it appears the fire started in the kitchen, but the exact cause is under investigation. Fire officials are sure the blaze started on the first floor.
Fire officials said the victim had burns on 40 percent of her body and was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center. She was the only person at home at the time.
Gray said the house had working smoke detectors and the investigation unit is still on the scene.
The house sustained an estimated $60,000 in damage.
