CLEVELAND - "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”

Words of wisdom from a man whose life we still soon celebrate.

This year, the members of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Scholarship Committee of Cleveland will honor the work of Dr. King at their 13th annual breakfast celebration.

The special event takes place on Monday, Jan. 21 t the Marriott Hotel at Key Center in downtown Cleveland. This year's theme is "Building Peace and Unity within the Global Community"

The program begins at 7:30 a.m. and will encourage those who attend to celebrate Dr. Kings's life by passing on his legacy to the next generation.

The presentation of the MLK Holiday Scholars is always a special highlight of the breakfast. These are students in grades one and two, who entered the "Happy Birthday Dr. King!" birthday card contest and won in their category.

They will also honor an adult who embodies the principles of Dr. King and has a strong commitment to the Greater Cleveland Community.

But one of the most anticipated moments of the morning is the keynote address. This year, it will be given by Cleveland Browns linebacker James-Michael Johnson.

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Scholarship Committee of Cleveland is made up of residents of Greater Cleveland and communities beyond northeast Ohio. They are an independent, tax-exempt, grass roots organization, and it is not affiliated with any other organization or government entity.
