CLEVELAND - Less people attended this year's St. Patrick’s Day parade but more arrests were made by Cleveland police.
Cleveland police said Monday 29 people, 24 adults and five juveniles, were arrested during the festivities. Eights were cuffed for alcohol-related offenses, according to authorities.
Between 130,000 and 150,000 spectators, plus 12,000 marchers, turned out for Sunday's parade.
In 2012, 21 people were arrested in downtown Cleveland St. Patrick's Day incidents. Last year’s parade was the largest ever with more than 15,000 participants and 500,000 spectators packing downtown on a beautiful 77 degree day. This year was much colder with temperatures in the 30s.
Cleveland police said on their Facebook page that kids caused a disturbance in Tower City, running through the food court area flipping tables and knocking people over.
