$2 million winning Powerball ticket sold at Cleveland BP station on West 117th

CLEVELAND - The Ohio Lottery said a $2 million winning lottery ticket for Wednesday’s massive Powerball drawing was sold at a gas station on Cleveland’s west side.

According to the lottery, the ticket was sold at the BP Station on West 117th Street just off I-90 across from Giant Eagle.

The winner matched 5 of 5 numbers, but did not get the Powerball. However, the winner paid extra for the powerplay option, doubling the winnings from $1 million to $2 million.

There was also a $1 million winner in Columbus. That person also matched all five numbers, but declined the powerplay option.

Lottery officials said from Sunday to Wednesday, $39 million was spent on tickets in the state of Ohio.

The winner of the $2 million jackpot will have 180 days to come forward and may remain anonymous.

Altogether, there were 27,706 winning tickets sold in Ohio for this drawing, ranging from $4 to $2 million.

The jackpot for the drawing was $579.9 million.
