CLEVELAND - Marion Williams III pleaded not guilty to rape, kidnapping and weapons charges in a Cleveland courtroom Monday morning.
Prosecutors said he grabbed a 12-year-old girl by gunpoint who was walking near West 65th Street and Franklin Avenue January 17, 1996.
"The defendant pushed the victim to the ground, pointed a gun at her and raped her," said Nicole DiSanto, public information officer for Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason.
"Williams told the victim that he knew where she lived and if she told the police, he would kill her," she said in a statement sent to NewsChannel5.
Williams is being held on a $250,000 bond. He was arrested August 1. Williams' name popped up on the Ohio State DNA Index Systems (SDIS) in April of this year.
