CLEVELAND - A 16-year-old boy was found dead in an apartment on Cleveland’s east side on Thursday.
The teen was in a back bedroom of an apartment on East 140th Street near Kinsman Road at about 6 p.m.
A witness told police that a man in his late-teens to early 20s chased the teen into the building and shot him several times. Cleveland police said the 16-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene with a gunshot wound to his neck.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Julian Gaines, of Cleveland.
The shooter was wearing a blue jumpsuit and gray hooded-sweatshirt, police said. He was armed with a black 9mm handgun.
