12-year-old crossing street hit by SUV on Denison Avenue, Cleveland police say driver left scene

CLEVELAND - A 12-year-old girl was hit by an SUV while crossing the street on Cleveland’s west side Friday night.
A black SUV going southbound on Denison Avenue hit the girl in the intersection of West 31st Street at about 6:46 p.m. Cleveland police said. The driver left the scene without stopping.
Police said there are no traffic signals or crosswalks in that area.
The girl was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center to be treated for her injuries.
The vehicle involved may have damage to the frontend and windshield, police said.
