CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Warriors play football for a good cause, and these are no ordinary football players. The roster is comprised of police, firefighters, medics, EMT's and any member of the public safety work force.

They play in the National Public Safety Football League. There are teams from all over the United States. Home games are played at Case Western Reserve University.

When they are not banging heads on the street they are banging helmets on the gridiron. After a full days work of serving the public they strap on the pads to help those in need. They not only donate their time but also their money to fund operations for a season.

Equipment, hotels, food and other items that go into putting a game on, comes out of their own pocket.

These guys and gals are totally committed to helping others. Any of them will tell you, it comes easy to them. This is a very special group of people, an extended family of sorts, who put others first.

Dave Mordarski who spearheads the group says that if you think about the big picture they go out and serve the public then get to play football and help others in another way.

Do not be mistaken these guys love playing the game and do not want to lose, but it’s all for a good cause for those less fortunate.

All the proceeds go to a team charity. This year the Warriors are playing for “Camp Cheerful." If you would like to donate or sponsor a player go to Clevelandwarriors.us for more information.
