An early morning chase in Knox County had prompted a Blue Alert after the suspect in pursuit reportedly hit a deputy, severely injuring him, and took off.
It happened around 6:40 a.m. in the 26000 block of Coshocton Rd. in Mount Vernon.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office said deputy Chad Lishness was hit by suspect Josh Baldride in his vehicle.
A Blue Alert was issued for our region, which includes Portage, Richland, Stark, Summit.
The alert is issued when a law enforcement officer is critically injured, killed or missing and the suspect(s) are still at large.
Authorities later canceled the Blue Alert Sunday night.
