Cleveland Councilman Kevin Conwell is calling all Ward 9 residents to attend the Home & Energy Expo on Thursday, August 16, 2012 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m in the Forman Mills parking lot at 11905 Superior Avenue in Cleveland.

Residents will have an opportunity to learn about:

-          Energy conservation programs

-          Home ownership bank financing

-          How to buy a home

-          Predatory lending

-          Home repair permits

-          Code enforcement

-          Credit evaluation

-          Foreclosure prevention insurance

-          Senior programs

-          Utility assistance programs

-          Community programs

The information will be presented by:

-          City of Cleveland Depts.

-          Public utilities

-          Senior agencies

-          Community agencies

-          Government agencies

-          ESPO/Empowering and Strengthening Ohio's People (predatory lending)

-          Banks

-          Insurance companies

-          Community development corps.

-          Contractors

Organizers will also have a school supplies giveaway from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for Ward 9 residents. Remember to bring your I.D. to show proof of residency.

If it rains, the location will be moved indoors to the Martin DePorres Family Center at 1264 East 123 rd Street in Cleveland.

The event is sponsored by Famicos Foundation, Councilman Kevin Conwell, Cuyahoga County Council Member Yvonne Conwell and NewsChannel 5.
