CLEVELAND - A mail carrier was robbed Monday afternoon in Cleveland.
Post office officials said the robbery happened near East 115th Street and Itasca, which is a residential area.
No mail was taken, but the suspect did take personal and postal items. The mail carrier assumed the suspect was carrying a gun, but he was not injured during the robbery.
Post office officials said the robbery of a mail carrier is a very rare occurrence and can be considered a federal offense.
Cleveland police are investigating the robbery.
