Woman undergoes surgery after overnight shooting in Akron

AKRON, Ohio - A woman is undergoing surgery at a hospital in Akron after being shot on the city’s west side late Monday night.
Akron police detectives tell NewsChannel5 the woman arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound around 11:40 p.m.
Shortly after, detectives blocked off a crime scene at the intersection of Madison Avenue and Garth Avenue.
Detectives said the woman has been taken into surgery. Her current condition remains unknown.
No arrests have been made in the case.
