AKRON, Ohio - An armed robbery Saturday night in Akron landed three men in handcuffs, while a Sunday evening $5 drive-thru robbery sent another man to jail.

The first incident happened shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday. Three men told police they were walking along the 500 block of Sumner Street when a trio of men came up behind them, robbing them at gunpoint.

The victims reported being knocked to the ground and their cellphones and wallets being taken.

Dispatched officers found the suspects walking down Brown Street. A brief foot chase ended with three arrests.

Dermont Freeman, 18, of Massillon, Michael Graves, 20, of Canton, and Gavontye Lott, 20, of Akron, have all been charged with aggravated robbery and booked into the Summit County Jail.

About 24 hours later, in an unrelated incident, two victims reported being robbed while waiting in a restaurant drive-thru on E. Market Street. It happened around 9:30 p.m. Sunday a man approached the passenger side door demanding money.

The victims gave the suspect $5 and he took off.

Within a matter of minutes, Akron police found 31-year-old Shawn Cook. The Cotter Avenue man has been charged with robbery and is behind bars in the Summit County Jail.
