AKRON, Ohio - Two men each nearly lost an ear after separate incidents in Akron over the weekend.
The first ordeal happened at about 7:30 p.m. Friday. According to Akron police, a 30-year-old man got into a fight with another man on South Maple Street. During the fight, the second man bit the 30-year-old’s ear, almost separating it from his head.
Police said the suspect has been identified, but no charges have been filed yet.
The second incident happened at about three hours later. Akron police said a 21-year-old man was walking near the intersection of Raasch Avenue and West Cedar Street when two men approached him. One of the men pulled a gun and fired a shot at the victim, striking him in the ear.
The victim went to Akron General Medical Center for treatment. Police said his injuries are minor.
Officers are still looking for the two men who were involved in the shooting.
