AKRON, Ohio - A 41-year-old fugitive, wanted out of Akron for multiple drug violations, has been captured after being on the run for more than two years.
Ronald Copeland, 41, was arrested Tuesday morning on multiple counts of drug violations. Copeland was also wanted by the Summit County Sheriff’s Office and Copley Police Department for the same charges, among others.
Warrants were issued for Copeland's arrest in Sept. of 2010 after officials said he didn't appear in court.
After watching numerous hours of surveillance and searching Copley, the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force got a tip from a local resident of Copeland's whereabouts. Soon after, Copeland was arrested when leaving a home in the 3500 block of Wales Ave. N.W. in Massillon.
Copeland was taken to the Summit County jail where he is awaiting further court proceedings.
