Thousands ring in 2013 at 17th Annual First Night Akron celebration

AKRON, Ohio - Downtown Akron was about family, fun and the arts Monday night!
You can scroll through the pictures above at some of the festivities that took place for the New Year's Eve bash at 'First Night Akron.'
The event spanned throughout 10 sites in downtown Akron, featuring everything from art to music, magic and trivia game shows.
Fireworks lit up the sky around 9 p.m., which was one of the two displays scheduled for Monday night. The second fireworks show took place around midnight to ring in 2013!
This was the 17th year for the 'First Night Akron' event.
