AKRON, Ohio - An Akron man stole a taxi and then crashed it, leading to his arrest, police say.
The incident began when Stefan Dalon King, 21, of Akron, was picked up by Akron Express Taxi at Jen’s Den, according to police. King then pulled out a handgun and forced the driver out of the taxi on Kline Avenue before stealing it.
King crashed the taxi at 1272 Pondview Avenue and then walked to 293 North Marth Avenue, where police took him into custody.
Police said they found the gun inside the taxi.
King was charged with Aggravated Robbery, Auto Theft, Burglary and Weapons under Disability.
