AKRON, Ohio - Police in Akron said a man whose SUV was being repossessed shot at the two people trying to take it away before crashing the vehicle.
The incident happened at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday on Chalker Street – just north of East Cuyahoga Falls Avenue.
Akron police said 50-year-old Timothy Moore was armed with a handgun when he confronted the repo truck driver in the driveway.
The repo truck driver got into his truck, drove down the street and called police.
Police said Moore got into the SUV and followed the repo man. He then got out of the SUV and fired several shots at the repo man before taking off, the police report said.
The repo driver and his co-worker were not injured in the shooting.
Police said Moore then ran a stop sign at the intersection of Chalker Street and Dalton Street, and was involved in a crash.
Moorewas arrested at the scene and later charged with two counts of felonious assault and one count of discharging a firearm.
He’s being held in the Summit County Jail.
