AKRON, Ohio - Akron police are investigating a shooting on Noah Avenue that sent one person to the hospital just after 9:30 p.m. Thursday.
According to police, a man was shot outside a home on Noah Avenue just south of Copley Road.
Neighbors told NewsChannel5 that a dozen shots were fired from what sounded like an automatic weapon.
Police confirmed that multiple shots were fired and at least one house on the street was hit during the gunfire.
As a precaution, police went door to door on Noah and Noble Avenues to make sure no one else was shot.
Police collected evidence in front of and behind several homes along Noah Avenue.
Police said the victim was in surgery and is expected to survive.
No arrests have been made yet, police said.
