Nursing home worker charged with rape

AKRON, Ohio - U.S. Marshals have arrested a nursing home worker accused of sexually assaulting a patient at a facility in Akron.

Lemar Daniels, 49, of Akron, has been charged with rape in connection with the alleged incident at Middlebury Manor Nursing Home on East Market Street.

Akron police said Daniels was working at the facility as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) in May when he raped a middle-aged woman who suffers from developmental disabilities.

According to police, Daniels was suspended from the nursing home after the sexual assault happened and the victim was transferred to a group home.

Daniels was arrested at his home Friday morning. He was taken to the Summit County jail.
