Akron, Ohio - A new Sumatran tiger is now on exhibit at the Akron Zoo.

Berani arrived in Akron from the San Antonio Zoo and joined another Sumatran tiger, Jae-Jae, at the exhibit. The tigers are endangered species.

The Sumatran tiger originated on an island in Indonesia. There are fewer than 300 of them left in the wild, due to poaching and deforestation.

Berani was born on September 18, 2001 at the National Zoo.
