AKRON, Ohio - The city of Akron is looking to hire 38 new firefighters and 40 new police officers.
The deadline to apply is midnight Friday, Dec. 21. The application can be found and filled out on the city's website .
Cpt. Al Bragg of the Akron fire Department said they want a lot of candidates to be able to hire the most qualifies for the job.
The only qualifications for the firefighter positions is you must be between the ages of 18 and 31 and have a high school diploma or a GED. For the police positions, you must be between the ages of 21 and 31 and have a high school diploma or GED.
