AKRON, Ohio - A driver in Akron with 46 license suspensions crashed his SUV on I-77 just after 12:30 Friday morning then ran from the crash before being caught by Akron police.
According to Akron police, the driver lost control on the ramp from I-76 eastbound to I-77 south, flipped the SUV and then crashed through a guardrail before finally landing on all four wheels.
The driver then jumped from the SUV and ran into a nearby neighborhood.
Other drivers who witnessed the crashed called 911 to report the incident and helped Akron police locate the man.
He was caught by police on Brown Street about 15 minutes after the crash.
After the arrest, officers found a small bag on marijuana on the man. He was arrested and taken to the Summit County Jail.
Police are not releasing the man's name or for what the previous 46 suspensions were.
