CANTON, Ohio - A man is dead after fire engulfed a home on 24th Street NW in Canton, according to Canton Battalion Chief Akbar Bennett.
The victim was found on the first floor near the kitchen, according to Bennett.
"A couple blocks before we got here, we could see flames about ten feet in the air," Bennett said.
Fire gutted the victim’s home and siding was melted on a side of a neighboring home that faced the home that burned.
The Stark County Coroner’s Office was at the scene along with Canton fire. There is no further information right now on the victim’s identity.
