AKRON, Ohio - A bomb squad responded to a hazardous materials situation at Meggitt Braking Systems on Massillon Road in Akron Friday morning.
The Summit County Sheriff's Office said an employee discovered two bottles of Picric Acid, which began to crystallize on top of the bottle.
The bomb squad at the scene worked to render the acid safe. The all clear was given just before noon.
Hazmat and fire crews also responded to the situation.
Employees were evacuated from the building, which is in the vicinity of but not at the airport, as a routine procedure.
Inspector Bill Holland said Picric Acid is used in the making of explosives.
