AKRON, Ohio - Five people are now behind bars after Akron police busted a meth lab at a home on Florida Avenue.
The bust happened in the 1200 block of Florida Ave. where authorities could smell an odor of chemicals coming from inside while they were looking around outside.
As officers approached the home, they said someone tried jumping out of a window to get away. That person was Joseph Michael Overdorf, 29, who was the first to be arrested and charged with the crime.
A search warrant got the officers inside where they found items used to make the drug.
Alan E. Devine, 23; John M. Greathouse, 30; Tracy Marie Strata, 23; and Amanda L. Cline, 26, were also arrested.
All five were charged with illegal manufacturing of meth, among other drug charges, and are jailed in Summit County.
