Fire damages mixed-use building on Grant Street in Akron

AKRON, Ohio - Akron firefighters battled a fire in a mixed use building in the 1300 block of Grant Street around midnight Friday.
According to firefighters, the building housed apartments on the second floor and storage and workshop space on the first floor.
The fire started in the second floor and was quickly put out. The Red Cross was helping two people with a place to stay.
No injuries were reported.
