COPLEY TOWNSHIP, Ohio - The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office has released the causes of death for the seven victims and the shooter in Sunday's massacre in Copley Township.
Gunman Michael Hance, 51, who authorities said killed seven people before being shot and killed by township police Officer Ben Campbell, died from a single gunshot wound to the torso, according to the medical examiner's office.
The report also showed six of Hance's seven victims died from gunshot wounds to the head.
Hance's neighbor Russell Johnson, 67, died after being shot in the head and chest. Russell's wife, Gudrun "Gerdie" Johnson, 64, died from a single gunshot to the head. The couple's son, Bryan Johnson, 44, was killed by multiple gunshot wounds to his head. Bryan's daughter, Autumn Johnson, 16, suffered from fatal gunshot wounds to the chest, neck and extremities.
Autumn's friend, Amelia Shambaugh, 16, died from a single gunshot wound to the head.
Craig Dieter, 51, the brother of Hance's girlfriend of more than two decades, Rebecca Dieter, died from multiple gunshot wounds to the head. His young son Scott Dieter, 11, was reportedly hunted down by Hance who shot him once in the head, killing him.
Hance's girlfriend, Rebecca Dieter, remains in a local hospital where she's recovering from also being shot.
Police said Hance used two handguns during the massacre.
