AKRON, Ohio - A 61-year-old Cleveland man will spend eight years in prison for trafficking in $200,000 worth of heroin.
Gerald Howard, 61, was sentenced on Thursday in Summit County Common Pleas Court.
In Nov. 2010, Howard and a co-defendant, Harriet Caynon, 55, arranged to sell 200 grams of the drug to an undercover Akron police officer at a restaurant in Montrose.
After the deal, the two were arrested.
Howard was found guilty by a jury last month. Caynon was convicted of the crime and sentenced earlier to three years in prison.
Records show Howard has a drug history dating back to 1972.
