Cat dies in Akron house fire on East Archwood Avenue

AKRON, Ohio - One cat is dead and several others injured after a house fire on E. Archwood Avenue in Akron.

Firefighters said the blaze broke out around 1:30 p.m. Friday. The flames were reported by a passerby.

Fire crews said the blaze is under control and no humans were hurt.

The animal protective league took the injured cats.

A cause and damage estimate remains under investigation.
