Canton man shot and killed standing in doorway in Akron

AKRON, Ohio - The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office and the Akron Police Department are investigating the homicide death of Kevin Collier, 37, of Canton.

Collier was shot by a unknown person while standing in a doorway on the 1100 block of Brandon Avenue in Akron Tuesday at approximately 10 p.m., police said.

Collier was taken to Akron City Hospital where he later died from his injuries at 12:55 am on Wednesday.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
