AKRON, Ohio - A Summit County baby sitter has been indicted on murder charges following the death of a toddler.
Prosecutors said 20-year-old Tiffani Calise, of Uniontown, was indicted for murder, involuntary manslaughter and two counts of child endangering for the death of 23-month-old Aliyah Ali.
According to the Summit County prosecutor’s office, Calise was baby-sitting the young girl on the night of Aug. 9, when she called 911.
Prosecutors said Calise told dispatchers that the toddler had fallen in the bathtub, but after an investigation authorities found the girl’s injuries were not consistent with the story. Ali died a few days later.
Calise will be arraigned on Wednesday.
