AKRON, Ohio - Akron police stayed busy over the hot and humid weekend, thanks to a pair of stabbings and a shooting.
The first stabbing happened around midnight Saturday in front of a home on Noah Avenue. The caller reported several women were in front of the house fighting when one of them broke a bottle and stabbed another with it several times in the arms and back.
The 16-year-old victim was taken to a local hospital where her injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
Destanie Carter, 20, was arrested and charged with felonious assault and is now sitting in the Summit County Jail.
Then around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, two victims told Akron police they were shot while sitting on the patio outside of Hams Bar on S. Arlington Street.
A man was shot in both legs, while the other victim was shot in her right leg. Both were taken to local hospitals where they're expected to fully recover from their injuries.
Police continue looking for a suspect and the shooting remains under investigation.
About two hours later, detectives said a man and woman were stabbed outside The Embassy Bar on Romig Road around 4:30 a.m. Sunday.
The victims said a fight broke out before the stabbing happened. The stabbing victims drove themselves to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police are looking for the suspect.
