AKRON, Ohio - A man was shot on South Street near Miami Avenue in Akron just after 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.
According to detectives, the man was shot and then rushed to Akron General Medical Center in a car that crashed near the entrance of the hospital at Wabash and Exchange avenues.
The driver, who was not the shooting victim, was going too fast to make the left turn onto Wabash Avenue from Exchange Avenue and drove up on the sidewalk and crashed into a street light, knocking it to the ground.
At the shooting scene, police marked five shell casings with evidence markers and were taking measurements and pictures of the evidence left behind.
Officers were also seen going into Dreamer Girls Gentlemen's Club and talking with some of the patrons and employees about the shooting.
No information about the victim was released but detectives said his injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
No arrests have been made. Police said they don't have a suspect.
