Akron man sentenced to 25 years for rape and gross sexual imposition of 8-year-old girl

AKRON, Ohio - An Akron man was sentenced Wednesday afternoon for rape and gross sexual imposition involving a young child.
In July, 40-year-old Brolin Payne was found guilty of repeatedly raping and sexually assaulting an 8-year-year-old girl over a six-month period.
Payne appeared in front of visiting Judge Richard Reinbold in Summit County Common Pleas Court. He was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison. He was also labeled a tier three sex offender.
In August 2003, Payne pleaded guilty to gross sexual imposition and was labeled as a sexually-oriented offender.
