Akron man charged with double murder after December shooting

AKRON, Ohio - Akron police have charged a man with murder in a shooting that happened on Buchtel Avenue in December.
Police said on December 15, Dawud El Spaulding, 29, of Akron, shot and killed two victims, and injured another on the 1100 block of Grant Street.
El Spaulding reportedly went to the house and shot his first victim Patrick Griffin, 24, after he came outside, police said. Griffin is in serious condition from the gunshot.
Later that same day, police said El Spaulding returned to the location and shot and killed Erica Singleton, 28, and Ernest Thomas, 31.
El Spaulding was charged with felonious assault, attempted murder and two counts of aggravated murder.
