AKRON, Ohio - Akron firefighters battled a fire in a vacant two story home near the intersection of Lloyd Street and Lake Shore Boulevard. It began just after 11 p.m. Wednesday.
Akron firefighters said the home was vacant, and no one was injured.
The fire could be seen from I-76 and sent heavy black smoke into the air for more than an hour.
The home was unstable, so firefighters had to fight the fire from outside using a tower and hoses on all four corners of the house.
Arson investigators were at the scene, but have not ruled the fire arson.
Firefighters left the scene just before 2:30 a.m.
