AKRON, Ohio - Manchester Road in Akron is back open after a fatal crash Sunday morning.
Manchester Road was closed between Wilbeth Road and Flora Avenue, but reopened just before 1 p.m.
Akron police and the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office continue to investigate.
The crash happened around 3 a.m. when a driver drove off of the road hitting a telephone pole and then the side of a building, police said. The vehicle then caught on fire.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene and has not yet been identified.
No one else was injured in the crash. Nearby businesses told NewsChannel5 the building was formerly a restaurant but is now unoccupied.
